The 'Investment' at the Loss being our Cost

November 4, 2016

The common catch phrase of the current administration of our government and the 'expert' approach it employs to deploy the key players essential to the need of rectifying and repairing the families of whanau, can be found here in the Interim Report of the Expert Panel: Modernising Child Youth and Family to oversee the development of a new child-centric operating model for CYF.

Surely those words are enough to red flag and indicate the poor and unfortunate future the tamariki of the Ministry of Vulnerable Children are going to live under, granted with an increased social spend on social work services and excursions at their expense to fund - all because the department is changing the name to take family in fact out of the equation to not have an obligation to recity the children's family at all- wards for life and loyal to the State because the State has been their parent. No rocket science, I would think. Te Rito: Restoration of Whanau has a proposal for parent intervention that is intensive for the benefit of children that is by way of rectifying and 'restoring' the parents who are the family and their home, not the state.
